MIRRORED INSECURITIES

by Ritika Shah

Plato wrote of so-called “golden proportions,” in which, amongst other things, the width of an ideal face would be two-thirds its length, while a nose would be no longer than the distance between the eyes. Just like Plato’s golden proportions, is there a fundamental symmetry in objects and in people that humans find attractive?

Symmetry might be a norm for aesthetics, but is it is a sign of beauty when it comes to images? This book explores the same thought on a deeper, more physical level. By using the mirror attached, read the story each image has to tell, and find out if symmetry truly leads to beauty in your eyes.
