by Saloni Kalkat

My project was inspired by a poem about the Paris attacks posted on social media by Indian blogger, Karuna Ezara Parikh (the last four lines of my poem are taken directly from the ending of her poem hence they are in quotations). I created a website for my project because I wished to utilize the internet’s boundless information and resources. Using selected images from the class archive, I wove photos into my narrative. However, the images are not obvious in their representation of places, emotions, responses, and situations. Each image opens a link when clicked to a webpage that helps the viewer to understand what these images are specifically evoking. In addition, the placement of text and the size/shape of the images seeks to emphasize each line of the poem as well as its overall message.
